The Impact of Climate Change on New Hampshire Business

The Innate Nature of Sin Nathaniel Hathorne was a creator who reliably expounded on parodies of the Puritan time. His short stories frequently rotated around topics of transgression and how nobody could escape from submitting sin. The short stories â€Å"The Minister’s Black Veil† and â€Å"Young Goodman Brown,† composed by Hawthorne, mirror these subjects through components of fiction, for example, plot, setting, imagery, and perspective. â€Å"The Minister’s Black Veil† is about a town’s serve who strolls into Sunday Congregation with a grievous dark cloak covering his face. The shroud shields him from the transgressions of the remainder of the world, and the remainder of the world from his wrongdoing. â€Å"Young Goodman Brown† is about a recently hitched man who leaves Faith, his significant other to follow a man into the timberland, where Satanic Rituals happen. These Satanic Rituals are controlled by the individuals Goodman Brown had once known to be the most strict. Through the components of fiction, the short stories â€Å"The Minister’s Black Veil† and â€Å"Young Goodman Brown,† show how it is extremely unlikely for one getaway from submitting sin, regardless of what their identity is. One of the tales Hawthorne composes is â€Å"The Minister’s Black Veil. The story begins when a minster strolls into his week after week Sunday message with a shroud that cover’s his face.. The cloak is viewed as emblematic with transgression, on the grounds that the pastor has begun to wear his wrongdoing all over. He is disregarded from the town, as individuals begin to become awkward in his essence. The cover is a consistent token of their transgressions too. At the point when the Minister goes to a burial service of a young lady, he strolls in with the cover and stoops down to the corpse’s level, and when coincidentally his face revealed (just to the carcass) â€Å"the cadave r had somewhat shivered, stirring the cover and muslin top, however the face held the self-restraint of death. (â€Å"Black Veil† 337). At the point when the carcass sees the essence of the priest, it shivers in response. This response gives clues about what might be behind the dark cloak. It shows that what is behind the dark shroud is so dull, and ghastly that even a dead body has a response, and the main response a dead body can have is dread of what might be coming straightaway. At its end, there’s nothing the carcass can do about its life and how it was lived: with or without transgression. Seeing all the wrongdoing behind the cloak terrified the body, as it was an impression of all the transgression it couldn't longer escape. All of its transgression had found the body as it lay in the casket. At that point the Minister kept on making a lesson, asking that everyone be set up for death when what is underneath the cover is uncovered. This scene says that demise is t he point at which all of one’s sins come to find them, and everything underneath the cloak is uncovered as they are decided before God. The shroud, in this sense, can be anything as a spread for transgression. For the Minister, it was a physical a bit of fabric that secured his face. For other’s it very well may be their characters; how they carry on around others can delude others of their transgression. After the memorial service, the Minister goes to a wedding and pretty much he’s going to take a taste of his wine, in the wake of wishing the couple bliss, he sees his own appearance: â€Å"catching a brief look at his figure in the mirror, the dark cover included his own soul in the ghastliness with which it overpowered all others. His edge shivered †his lips developed white †he spilt the untasted wine upon the floor covering †and hurried forward into the murkiness. (â€Å"Black Veil† 338) In this scene, the Minister is, just because, see ing himself with the cloak. His response is a lot of like that of his gathering: dread.. Here, we see a component of fiction: Symbolism. The cover is emblematic for sins the Minister has submitted. At the point when he sees this cover, hHe feels dread †so much dread †that he drops what he is holding and escapes. The dread of wrongdoing the cover touches off in him makes him run, , as though to escape from them. He can't let anybody see what he sees, as he is the one in particular who genuinely realizes what his transgressions are.His sins are so alarming in light of the fact that he realizes that in the end he will be responsible for each and every one, and the cover will one day be pulled off. Indeed, even he, the Minister of the congregation, can't escape from his wrongdoing, and in the end at death, everyone’s sins will find the person in question: At that point, there is no place to run. The following story, â€Å"Young Goodman Brown,† is about a youngste r who is leaving his better half to go meet somebody in the backwoods. He meets a man, who resembles a more established adaptation of himself, (really the fallen angel) and discloses to him that he wishes to return to his village. He tells the man, his family was loaded with acceptable Christians, and that he is embarrassed to be related with the fiend. As he advises the Devil that he needs to follow an alternate way, the Devil reacts â€Å"Well Goodman Brown! I have been too familiar with your family similarly as with ever a one among the Puritans; and that is no play to state. † (Hawthorne 326) When the Devil says this, Goodman Brown gets befuddled: He accepted his family to be of one of the most strict, and to see them partner themselves with the villain is by all accounts a falsehood. He accepts that there must be bits of gossip about his family. He can’t acknowledge the way that his dad, and granddad, who were known to be devout individuals, related themselves with the Devil surprisingly. Goodman Brown waves off certain individuals the Devil names, saying that they pick their own way. At that point he says to the Devil that he would not have the option to converse with the Minister of Salem Village if he somehow managed to go on. The Devil’s reaction to this is â€Å"Thus far the senior explorer had tuned in with due gravity; however now burst into a fit if powerful jollity, shaking himself so brutally that his snakelike staff really appeared to wriggle in compassion. (Hawthorne 327) Here, the Devil blasts into giggling when Goodman Brown proposes the Minister is a decent Christian man. Goodman earthy colored is insulted at the man for refuting the entirety of his colleagues. He learns in this story that no one, not even his great little Faith, can get away from the Devil. His dad, granddad, the Minister, and Faith have all be uncovered to be following the Devil, and it’s something he can't get away. In Conclusion, both short st ories, â€Å"Young Goodman Brown† and â€Å"The Minister’s Black Veil† by Nathaniel Hawthorn, uncover the inescapable sin of the individuals we believe the most.It gives us that no one can get away from wrongdoing, and it’s inborn of human instinct. When the town’s individuals first observe the Minister with his cloak, their responses are the entirety of stun and dread. During his first message with the cloak â€Å"Each individual from the assembly, the most guiltless young lady, and the man of solidified bosom, felt as though the minister had crawled upon them behind his terrible cover and found their accumulated evildoing of deed or thought. † (Hawthorne 336) Here, Hawthorne is portraying the impact the cloak had on the individuals of that town.Everybody who was at the message felt like Minister Hooper had crawled up to them, and found their wrongdoings of activities, and their transgressions of musings. It says even â€Å"the most blamel ess girl† felt her transgressions being found. This statement expresses that no one can escape from transgression, regardless of attempting your hardest. The blameless young lady ought to have been liberated from sins, however she feels the dread of her transgressions being revealed similarly as every other person. The way that the Minister came into the lesson with his â€Å"sins† all over, individuals really felt dread and force from his message.

Managerial Discretion Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Administrative Discretion - Essay Example er, chiefs should have the option to practice their own judgment in employing choices, vital arranging, successful organization and asset distribution choices. The outcome of not permitting such carefulness would be a blundering association that can't take agile activities that can keep it serious in a worldwide commercial center. Nonappearance of administrative carefulness would prompt an intensely bureaucratized organization that sets aside considerably more effort to settle on and actualize key choices than its rivals and in this way would fall by the wayside. Simultaneously, permitting directors to go out of control with their own inclinations can be similarly risky by setting up a circumstance in which clashing choices are made at various degrees of an association that wind up slowing down advancement. The powerful association finds some kind of harmony by permitting a high level of administrative attentiveness while establishing suitable limitations to keep the business working viably. Characterizing Discretion Key (1997) characterizes circumspection as a conviction that people can impact their condition. The idea of prudence, initially acquired from the legal executive, includes dynamic that is guided by singular standards and convictions free by outside control (standard. 13). In this way, prudence is essentially an abstract assurance that a specific administrator has a scope of choices accessible to him/herself. Key (2002) further keeps up that Caution depends on the conviction that one has reactions accessible with which to impact the earth. Singular observation impacts whether an individual accepts there are activities accessible to that person (standard. 2). This abstract assurance has been depicted as saw scope of activity. The idea of administrative watchfulness... The significance of administrative watchfulness to current organizations is considerable, and has for quite some time been perceived in that capacity. Optional conduct by troughs is basic to the vital activity of an organization; and yet permitting liberated watchfulness can be colossally adverse to the prosperity of an enterprise, as prove by the outrages that have occurred as of late in the United States and somewhere else. While supervisors must be able to break down a circumstance and decide and fitting strategy, there must be a few rules †or limitations so to speak †put in on that watchfulness in request to shield the organization from these sorts of harming improvements. A few investigations on the extension and cutoff points of administrative circumspection have discovered that there are a few factors impacting and constraining the activity of attentiveness in present day business. These incorporate such factors as age, length of residency, instructive fulfillment, s exual orientation, locus of control, and authoritative culture. Every one of these variables directly affects the degree to which supervisors don't hesitate to practice attentiveness, or not; and thusly they influence the achievement or disappointment of a business. At last, administrative watchfulness is a basic exercise in careful control for any business that looks to contend effectively in today’s worldwide business condition.

Closing Sentences

Closing SentencesWe all know the old saying 'the best way to close a deal is to be late,' but is that really the best way to close a deal? Here are some closing sentence ideas for you:* Brief Closing Statement- This is not like the longer closing, which is a statement of the agreement. What this statement does is it summarizes what you want to say in your brief closing speech. But this is a very strong statement and must be well thought out, if you want to stand out from the crowd.* Quick Closing - This type of closing is basically a one or two page note that explains what you hope to achieve by being present at the closing. It is usually one of the first parts of the closing speech. This works because there is very little time for a well thought out closing statement.* Business Closing Statement - If you are looking for a business closing statement this would be a one-page sentence that summarizes how you ended up working together, your overall history, the reason for the arrangemen t, and other such things. If you are not sure what to do for a closing statement, this would be a good starting point.* Business Closing Speech - This is a simple idea but it is one of the most important factor in closing a deal. It is the opportunity to impress your audience and let them know how much you care about them and what you can do for them.* Closing Speech Summary - What could be a simpler sentence than this? You get to summarize the main points of your closing speech and let your audience know why they should listen to you.* Closing Speech Paragraph - This is a shorter version of a closing sentence and tells us just enough to get our attention. For example, 'I am going to give you a special speech that I have prepared.'* Closing Sentence - A closing sentence is used to tell the audience what they will need to do in order to get what they want from you. Remember, the closing sentence is not as important as the closing speech, but they go hand in hand and should be thought out carefully.

Cath Anne: [00:01:56] So today we are doing something a little different. I am sharing a little bit more about my life as a freelancer. And today Im providing you with five things I absolutely can not live without as a freelancer and I hope as students you will relate to this to as many of you know I have been writing with Homework Help Global for over three years and it is a wonderful organization to work for. I am so happy that they helped me kick off my freelance lifestyle and I cant wait to share with you the many things that I cannot live with in my day as a freelancer. OK so a number one on my list. Are these Bose over the ear headphones. Now these are amazing headphones and they were actually gifted to me from my friends at Homework Help Global because we do an amazing podcast which Ill talk about a little bit later. Cath Anne: [00:03:01] These Bose headphones are so amazing. I cannot even express to you how great they are. I dont know what I did without them. Actually I cannot really hear myself talking at the moment because they work so well. I hope Im not talking too loud. But yes, so Ill just see if you guys can see the label there. So these Bose headphones these ones are not wireless. However I do believe you can get wireless ones. Now these are a little bit older however. They work super well. They work well for everything I need them for which I think is a huge testament to the brand Bose itself and I should mention this isnt a paid collaboration or anything like that. Im not being paid to say this. Im just telling you about the amazing things that I need on a day to day basis and this is one of them. Cath Anne: [00:03:57] Whether I am going out into the community to a meeting and I decide to walk I take these with me if Im going to the cafe to do some work these work amazing because I can listen to my music and they block out all the surrounding noise around me while Im also able to be around people and see people I know. The other thing that I really love these for is for podcasting. So we do a great podcast called Student influencers podcast where we talk to students and influencers from all around the world. So whether it is in India or in the US or in Canada we talk to influencers from across the world. And these are the headphones that I use for that. Why are these great for that podcast. Well theyre wonderful because they block out the sound. So when I use my highly sensitive microphone the Yeti stereo microphone these are blocked with the noise coming through from the other end which is absolutely perfect for podcasting because you dont want any noise interference when yo u are podcasting. Now I should mention that if you guys want to be involved in the student influencers podcast make sure to find us on Instagram or email us all of our information is linked in listed in the description box below and connect with us. If you think that a podcast would be interesting to be a participant in if you have a unique vision. If you are an influencer or a student we would love to hear from you. So make sure to hit us up and let us know that youre interested. Cath Anne: [00:05:37] Finally make sure you take a listen to our student influencers podcast and we will also link that in the description multiple though so you can check it out. So the second thing that I absolutely cannot live without. And if youre a follower of the channel you may recognize this from some of our other videos where Ive discussed it in passing or blatantly is a moleskin notebook. I absolutely love these notebooks for many reasons. So the first reason I love moleskin notebook is because its black, its very streamlined and it looks professional when I go into a meeting and I can take notes really easily. Cath Anne: [00:06:15] I love that I can take this wherever I go it fits easily into my backpack or my laptop bag and what I really love about it is that when I take notes or make my daily to do lists everything is in the same book. So I usually invest in one or two of these notebooks at the beginning of the year and they usually both last me throughout the year which I absolutely love keeping everything in one place or one notebook is a lot more organized than only having different random pieces of paper all around the place. So if you are a student or if you are a freelancer I highly recommend getting a few moleskin notebooks, labelling them if you want to and using them to your advantage. Another really great way that I love to use my moleskin notebook is to make my daily to do list and lets see if I can find one here for you. Cath Anne: [00:07:08] So here is an example of my one of my daily to do lists. So what I do on a daily basis is I go through my agenda and I look at what I have on the agenda for the day and if I have any specific deadlines I then write that down in my daily to do list and when I have finished a task I check it off with a colored marker or a colored pen. Cath Anne: [00:07:34] Now Ill tell you why this is beneficial. 1 When you write things down you can prioritize. So I would recommend prioritizing three tasks in the day by limiting your tasks to three. You are allowing yourself to be more productive and avoiding the overwhelm that comes with too many tasks. Even though I do write down other smaller tasks throughout the day I definitely prioritize only three tasks for the day. And this is something that I would recommend to you whether youre a freelancer a person that works in an office or if youre a student. The second reason that I think writing your lists like this is a great idea is because you can go through and check things off checking things off. Especially in a different color allows you to increase your motivation. So once you have finished one of your priorities for the day. Check that off and it is going to make you feel productive and that you have completed something. Its going to give you energy and fuel to move on to your next task. Finally one of my favorite reasons for using a most skin notebook is that it allows me to have a log of all of the work that Ive completed. So if youre like me you might be a person who never thinks they do enough. So in a day you might do a ton of different tasks but you dont write them down or you dont document them in any way. And I think this can relate to a student anyone in their own business. A freelancer or even anyone who is working in a 9 to 5 type of traditional job. When you write things down in list form and check them off it gives you an intentional log of what you have done for the day. So if you have a tendency to get down on yourself or think youre not doing enough go back to your notebook and look at what you have done in the day and you will realize that you are much more productive than you ever thought. So the third thing that I absolutely can not live without and Im sure Im not the only one is of course my phone and my lightning charger now beca use I am a freelancer. I go out into community a lot I have meetings I go to cafes to work and even when Im home I use my phone a lot. I have a lot of different apps on there. I do a lot of other peoples social media so having a lightning charger or several is absolutely integral to the work I try to never leave the house without taking my lightning charger with me. And if youre like me I would recommend that you do the same. So definitely my phone and my lightning charger are up there on things that I can not live without. I also wanted to mention that I have a lot of really great apps for productivity for meal ducking for work tracking and for invoicing things like that around freelancing and I was wondering if anyone would have an interest in me providing some info around that. So that something that you are interested in if youd like to know some of my favorite apps that are on my phone. Definitely jump into the comments section below and let us know if that is something that yo ud be interested in hearing about. OK. Cath Anne: [00:11:01] So the next thing that I wanted to mention is something that is relatively new to me and that is theres a little wallet and you might be like whatever its just a wallet. However it is simply perfect for carrying business cards. And this is something that I always tend to forget when I go out into community or to meetings which is so silly because people ask for your business card and Im not used to carrying one. So this little number has been great for me to just throw in my bag throw my laptop bag and take with me this little wallet is from a brand called some mirror and they make a vegan leather products and its just perfect. This little one is just perfect for carrying business cards so Ill show you it just pops open like this and then I keep my business cards right in here which I absolutely love. So the other reason I really love this is because its also perfect for when people give me their business cards I can keep it in here and then I have everyones bu siness card all in one spot. Even though we are living in a digital age and we communicate a lot on our computers there is something to be said about carrying a business card and having a snapshot of who you are what you do and how to get a hold of you. So I definitely recommend if youre in your third or fourth year of university to look into getting a business card created with your profession and your future degree on it. This will come in handy at networking events and let people know how to get hold of you. So this one is going to be a little bit silly but the this saying that I simply cannot live without. As a freelancer. Are my plants and my candles. And this might be something that youve noticed. If youve been watching our videos for a while I always have plants in the background and I usually have a candle lit and Ill tell you why this is. I work a lot from home. I do go out to community sometimes however most of my days are spent at home so I want to make sure that I can se t the tone for when Im working. Every morning when I wake up. Before I start working I light a vanilla scented candle. Ive really been loving the vanilla candles from Ikea. I also like vanilla soy candles and green apple candles have really been up there lately for me too. I always also have at least one or two plants on my desk at any given time as well as. Throughout my house. And Ill tell you why this is this is because I work alone. I work by myself and I work in my house. I need things that are going to inspire me. I mean things that are going to set the tone for my work day. Its really easy to get distracted by the dishes or the laundry that has to be done. So setting the tone for my day and placing beautiful things around me inspires me to create and motivates me to keep going throughout the day. Now this isnt just for freelancers. This is something that I would recommend for anyone thats working from home. And this includes people like students. So when you are going to stud y light a candle diffuse some essential oils or put some plants around you. This is going to help you to focus and to feel relaxed when you are trying to do something that is maybe not your favorite activity. I talk more about this in episode 53 of The Homework Help Show so definitely make sure to check that out and we will link that in the description box below. Cath Anne: [00:14:49] OK guys so thats it for me this week. I hope that you enjoyed this video and that this is the style of video that youd like to see more of. Introduction Education should be the means through which children are provided with guidance with regard to spiritual, moral, cultural, social, physical and mental development which should, in turn, provide equality of opportunity, justice, access to democracy, and a productive and sustainable economy for everyone (The National Curriculum, 2000 cited in Inman et al., 2003, p. 5). The National Curriculum (2000 cited in Inman et al., 2003, p. 5) sets out the expressed aim that pupils should be encouraged to develop enduring values which foster integrity whilst helping them to develop into autonomous responsible citizens who are able to make an active contribution to the society in which they live. The curriculum should provide opportunities for students to reflect upon the belief systems and culture of those around them, while simultaneously developing their sense of self, as well as a sense of respect and tolerance for diversity (National Curriculum, 2000 cited in Inman et al., 2003, p. 5). The notion that Personal, Health, Social and Economic Education (PSHE) is the appropriate curriculum area through which this might be delivered is endorsed by the recent review conducted by the Department for Education (DfE, 2015). This document states that an in-depth review of over 70 studies found that these lessons could benefit pupils across a diverse range of outcomes if there was a coherent, universal approach towards the socia l, emotional and behavioural development of students (Sklad et al., 2012). Furthermore, Langford et al. (2014) state that concerted efforts to promote health and well-being within schools had a demonstrable positive effect on issues such as smoking, bullying, diet and exercise. The aim of this essay is to look at the place of PSHE in the curriculum and the influence that this (as a subject area/concept) can have upon the life of a school. Definition PSHE is described as an important part of a childs education which should be delivered by all schools (DfE, 2013). The DfE (2013) state that the non-statutory nature of the subject allows PSHE to be moulded to the needs of specific groups of pupils, depending upon the environment in which they live and their particular needs. A critical aim provided for by this subject is that it should enable pupils to be able to make sound assessment of risk, and encourage learners to build up the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to make considered, informed decisions (DfE, 2013). This is particularly important with regard to issues such as drug education, sex and relationships education, financial education and health education (DfE, 2013). The subject is described as the vehicle through which meaningful debate about essential issues can be brought into childrens lives (Goddard et al., 2013) which allows them to develop the life skills to become independent, informed and active citi zens (Department for Education and Employment/Qualifications and Curriculum Authority [DfEE/QCA], 1999; endorsed by Worcestershire County Council, 2007). The DfE (2015, p. 4) state that PSHE à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦ is a planned programme of school-based learning opportunities and experiences that deal with the real life issues children and young people face as they grow up, covering those issues in two strands: personal well-being covers sex and relationships education, drug and alcohol education, emotional health and well-being, diet and healthy lifestyle and safety education, with economic well-being covering careers education, work-related learning, enterprise education and financial capability. It is pertinent to note that although PSHE for Key Stages 1 à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å" 4 is not compulsory, some aspects are statutory, such as education with regard to sex and relationships, drugs, careers and work-related learning. It should also be noted that schools are expected to coordinate, pla n, monitor and assess their provision of PSHE, as with any other subject area (DfE, 2015). Development In order to be able to fully comprehend PSHE in its current form, it is important that there is an understanding of its development which began with an acknowledgement that childrens personal and social development should be at the centre of any educative process, in order to ensure balanced cultural, spiritual, moral, mental and physical well-being (DfES/QCA, 2004). As stated above, the educative process should foster attitudes of equal opportunity, democracy, healthy living and sustainable development which in turn should enable pupils to develop a profound sense of self (DfES/QCA, 2004). Its inception as a subject came in the 1980s although much of the content associated with it was delivered via the hidden curriculum (Goddard et al., 2013). With the advent of the National Curriculum (DfE, 1989) came the notion that this content could be delivered as a part of the 10 curriculum subjects stipulated as being compulsory by the government. It was only as a result of the increased em phasis upon inclusive education that PSHE began to be seen as a discrete subject in its own right, being driven by the need for a citizenship education programme (Citizenship Advisory Group, 1997; DfEE/QCA, 1999) and a renewed commitment to the highest quality educational provision for all children (Department for Education and Employment, 1997). Health education as well as personal, social and emotional development were addressed via the Foundation Stage curriculum documentation (DfES/QCA, 2000) which paved the way for the Early Years Foundation Stage [EYFS] (Department for Children, Schools and Families [DCSF], 2008). This document, and documents produced for educational provision post 2003, were influenced by the Every Child Matters (ECM) initiative which called for a greater degree of multiagency working in order to ensure the safeguarding of children. ECM (DfES, 2004) aimed to provide teaching which allows children the opportunity to develop the knowledge, understanding and ski lls which enable them to be healthy, to remain safe, to enjoy life and to achieve things, to contribute to society around them and to be able to attain financial stability. There are palpable links between these aims and that of any good quality PSHE provision (Knowles, 2009) as well as additional support programmes across all age groups, such as the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning Syllabus (SEAL, DfES, 2005) which provides a holistic approach towards encouraging à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦ the social and emotional skills that underpin effective learning, positive behaviour, regular attendance, staff effectiveness and the emotional health and well-being of all learning and work in schools (DCSF, 2007, p. 4). Present Role and Influence The role of PSHE is critical in a number of ways. It provides opportunities for educators and society as a whole to provide children with the opportunity to develop a balanced perspective about many important issues which they will face during the course of their lives and to develop life skills. Often it also has the role of coordinating the delivery of compulsory aspects of education such as Sex and Relationships (SRE), work-related learning, and careers guidance (PSHE Association, 2010). In fact, it is viewed as being so important that there has been a recommendation by the government that PSHE should become a statutory subject in all schools (DCSF, 2009). McDonalds report (DCSF, 2009) recommended that learning in the primary sector should focus upon physical development, health and well-being with the secondary sector having PSHE as a foundation subject. He also suggested that research should be conducted with regard to how this core provision could be most effectively delivere d and stipulated that the subjects profile should be enhanced with practitioners through increased levels of professional development programmes, and the use of external providers within PSHE programmes. Further acknowledgement of the benefits that PSHE brings to pupils was highlighted by the DfE (2010) who made the point that the subject develops pupils skills to the extent that they are able to make informed choices and can help schools and society address major issues such as the misuse of drugs and appropriate sex/relationship behaviour (BBC News, 2015). Furthermore, the government has stressed the need for personal development within education through highlighting the need to provide a balanced curriculum which affirms the importance of subject knowledge and personal, social, health and economic awareness (DfE, 2011). This review of the National Curriculum (DfE, 2011) confirmed the governments view that PSHE should form part of the statutory curriculum, although they recomme nded that the provision should be under the control of individual schools/local authorities in order to cater for the needs of children within specific environments, with the proviso that childrens personal development could be clearly observed and documented. Clearly, PSHE simultaneously fulfils a number of roles a legislative role which ensures the safeguarding of children, a societal role that enables children to make a valuable contribution as they mature, an academic role in helping to raise educational standards as a result of children feeling emotionally secure, and a human rights role (Goddard et al., 2013). The level of influence and impact that PSHE can have within any educational environment will depend upon the way in which the subject is approached and the extent to which the staff, and indeed the school as a whole, are committed to it. Schools can adopt a discrete subject approach which provides it with a greater degree of gravitas for both pupils and teachers whic h is more easily achieved in a secondary school environment (Kitson, 2004). A cross curricular approach is one that is seen as more desirable in a primary setting, in that children are able to make cognitive links between different subject areas whilst tackling the activities that are set for them by practitioners (Hayes, 2006; Savage, 2011). A whole school approach requires the whole school community to become involved in delivering a specific ethos which is provided not only through lesson content, but also in the interactions which take place across the school environment as peers interact with each other and adults (practitioners, ancillary staff, and support staff) engage with children (Denman et al., 2004). Government inspectors recommend that the subject be delivered in discrete lessons which should be supplemented through links being made to it in other curriculum subjects (Office for Standards in Education [Ofsted], 2013), and through engaging in whole school, cross curricu lar activities as well as group teaching/guidance in specific aspects of development and learning (PSHE Association, n.d.). Whichever route is taken by individual schools, it is critical that the delivery is one which is interactive, vibrant and engaging, which provides children with an opportunity to express their feelings and views with regard to the important issues of the day (National Childrens Bureau, 2006), although current government thinking (DfE, 2015) indicates that a whole school approach should be taken towards PSHE. This whole school approach should foster good relationships within the school community, include lessons which are interactive and engaging, provide students with a voice, encourage an acceptance of diversity, are relevant to the circumstances in which pupils find themselves and encourage not only a sense of self but also a sense of community (DfE, 2015). This type of approach can be evidentially linked to pupils readiness to learn, with links being found b etween pupils health and well-being and attainment levels in schools where health and well-being form part of a schools effectiveness strategy (Public Health England, 2014). Evidence would also suggest that PSHE can improve the physical and psychosocial well-being of students, which has a beneficial effect upon their academic achievement (DfE, 2015). It has also been found that good quality careers education, information and advice can have a positive impact upon pupils, in that it has been shown to increase the levels of self-confidence and enhance decision-making skills, both of which are beneficial to students prospects for a stable economic future (Hughes and Gration, 2009). Conclusion Clearly, PSHE has a central role to play in the curriculum with regard to providing pupils with opportunities to explore important issues which effect of them as individuals and society in general. The approach which individual settings take with regard to this area will have an impact upon the effect that it can have in childrens lives. It is critical that the schools approach to PSHE is one which is engaging, thought-provoking and inclusive in order to provide equality of opportunity and an acceptance of difference irrespective of individual pupil backgrounds, abilities, faith, sexual orientation and gender identity (DfE, 2015). The whole school community must work as a team from the governors all the way through to the youngest pupils in order that pupils are provided with opportunities to develop as balanced, fair minded individuals. The New Year Festival in Vietnam and in America Introduction Although different countries in the world have different festivals and holidays, there is a momentous event that annually they all eagerly long for. It is the New Year festival which marks the pivotal point of a new period of time with the pure and pristine beginning for individuals. However, each nation has its own traditions, customs and values partly reflected in the celebration of the New Year festival. The ways of holding the festival in Viet Nam and in America are of no exception. The two countries belonging to two geographical locations and cultures share some certain similarities but mostly they show many obvious distinctions in the New Year celebration. Thus, they have less time to spend for the holiday With Vietnamese and American, the New Year festival gains different special significance. The Vietnamese New Year celebration is more complex and charged with more symbolic meanings than the American one. Vietnamese people strongly believe that the New Year demonstrates connections, renewals, thanksgivings and hopes. New Year traditions maintain linkages between people of living generations in the real world with the dead in the spiritual world. The connections for every family at this time are not only the gathering of all the relatives living far from the hometown but also the reunions with the spirit of ancestors. This belief presents a part of Vietnamese national identity and exerts considerable influence on many Vietnamese people. They usually return to their family during Tet. Some visit the graves of thei r parents and grandparents, removing weeds and worshiping to invoke the souls of the dead to visit the family home. American, however, does not take the New Year festival as serious as Vietnamese people. They regard this time as a public holiday bringing fireworks, parties, gifts and musical events and an occasion for family to hold special dinner. Television Is An American Staple Essay - 1042 Words

Television is an American staple. According to Mitchell Stephens, Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication at New York University, Television as we know it, was first introduced in 1927.(Stevens) currently over 98% of American households have at least 1 television set and the average American watches around 3 to 4 hours of television daily. The thought that television can entertain and inform as well as influence is equally powerful and disturbing. As early as the 1920 s, Thomas Edison recognized the potential of television as medium of influence. He stated â€Å"the motion picture is destined to revolutionize our educational system and...in a few years it will supplant largely, if not entirely, the use of textbooks†( qtd in Fabos). After hearing a song on the radio or a commercial jingle on TV more than 1000 times, that tune just gets stuck in your head. Similarly, the portrayals of television programs become part of our being and therefore can subtly influence attit udes behaviors and ultimately values. Sometimes these changes are for the better, sometimes not. Before the airing of the Edmond Pettis Bridge incident, where peaceful civil rights protesters, including women and children, who along with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr,. were marching from Selma to Montgomery, were attacked with high pressure fire hose spay, police dogs and officers with batons, the world knew little about the vehement treatment of an entire race of people. Why The Black Table Still Exists Essay - 543 Words

In â€Å"The â€Å"Black Table† Is Still There† the author wonders why, after so many years there is a table with just only black kids. I think it is clear that we tend to separate ourselves. It is only natural that this still exists amongst society today. Even though we don’t realize it and it’s done unintentionally. There are a few factors why we segregate ourselves. One reason is that without recognizing it we stay with people from our own race and country. This is because we feel we share the same interest and have so much in common. This goes on every day without people knowing it. It happens in our schools and in our neighborhoods. There are some communities that are divided into same ethnicity. We feel that just because we†¦show more content†¦The kids on a sports team or some after school activities tend to stick together. There reason again is quite clear, they all are apart of something, they all share a common interest. Graham also realize that this was not only with just the black kids, but with everyone else too: â€Å"there were at least two tables of athletes, an Italian table, a Jewish girls’ table, a Jewish boys’ table (where I usually sat), a table of kids who wee into heavy metal music and smoking pot, a table of middle-class Irish kids† (367). Many people considered this as very bad thing, and I can see the effects of why it can be. One obvious reason is that we will most likely seclude ourselves to someone who is of different background. This has become apart of society for a long time now, as Graham states: â€Å"The black lunch table, like those other segregated tables, is a comment on the superficial inroads that integration has made in society† (368). Another reason is that most people can not adapt to something new or different very well or fast. If they are not use to something they find it hard to adjust to it they tend to fear it. In Graham stor y he relates to this by saying: â€Å"Maybe it’s the color difference that makes all-black table or all-black groups attract the scrutiny and wrath of so many people. It scares and angers people; it exasperates† (367). People feel out of place and awkward because they are not familiar with certain groups of people. Financial and Management accounting - Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss about the Financial and Management accounting. Answer: Activity based costing Activity-based costing is the methodology for allocating the overheads more precisely over those items actually used by the process. This method can be used for achieving target deduction in the overhead expenses (Bhimani 2012). It works best in the complex circumstance where many products and machines are there, processes are tangled and not easy for sorting out. On the contrary, it is not of much importance where the process of production is simple. ABC identifies the special training, machine set up, special engineering and other activities that generate costs and lead the company to the consumer resources. As per ABC the company computes the resource cost used under the activities (Bunn and Sapio 2015). Thereafter, cost of each activity is assigned only over the products that require the activities. ABC has become important in past few years as the manufacturing costs increased significantly, diversity with regard to the demands of the customer as well as the product has been inc reased significantly, the costs of manufacturing overheads do not correlate with the direct labour hours and productive machine hours anymore and few products are produced under large batches while other products are produced under small batches. Various advantages are there with regard to usages of ABC. These are Make or buy it provides the comprehensive view regarding each cost that is associated with in-house manufacturing of any product so that the company can precisely analyse which cost shall be eliminated if the product is outsourced and which cost can be carried on. Minimum price pricing is done for the product in such way that the market will be ready to pay and the marketing manager shall know the product cost before deciding the price of the product. It will assist the company to avoid the situation where the company will lose money due to high pricing of product. ABC helps to determine which cost is to be included under this minimum product price based on the circumstances under which the product is to be sold (Guerrero-Baena, Gmez-Limn and Fruet Cardozo 2013). Cost for production facility it becomes easy to differentiate the overhead cost at the level of production plant which in turn enables the manager to compare the production cost among various facilities (Linassi, Alberton and Marinho 2016). Customers profitability mostly the costs incurred by individual customers are product cost that includes the overhead expenses and other costs like handling of product return, high level of customer service and agreements for cooperative marketing. ABC method can sort through the additional overhead costs and may assist in determining which customer is earning the reasonable profit (Drury 2013). However, some issues must be taken into consideration before implementing the ABC system. These are Volume for cost pool though the ABC system produces information of high quality, it comes with the cost of various cost pools and cost of managing system increases with additional cost pools. For reducing these costs, ongoing analysis of cost shall be carried out with comparing the utility of each cost pool. Time for installation the ABC system is quite difficult to install as it may require multi-year installations where the company try to install this across all the facilities and products. Further, it is difficult to manage the high level budgetary support as time wasted without the completion of installations (Fathi and Elham 2015). Project basis generally the ABC projects are allowed on basis of the project so that the information is collected only once. Further, the information can be useful for the current operational situation of the company. Therefore, management may not authorize the funding for future ABC project. Separate data set the ABC system can rarely be constructed for pulling all the information it requires from general ledger directly. Rather, it needs the separate database that can pull the information from various sources and only one may be existed in the general ledger accounts. Therefore it becomes difficult to manage the extra database as it requires considerably additional staff time for which adequate budget may not be there (Langfield-Smith et al. 2015). Therefore, before implementing the ABC system all the above factors shall be taken into account. Annual membership fees are the fixed fees and collected annually. Thus, the annual membership fees are constant and fixed receipt, on the contrary, the court fees charged on hourly basis ranges from $ 8 to $ 12 and vary on the basis of duration spent in the club, time of the day, season of the year, number of the customers and prime or non-prime time. Thus, it is not possible to accurately predict the receipt from court fees that are charged on hourly basis (Damanpour and Aravind 2012). Implementation of the new membership plan will enable the company to plan the cash in better manner as it will improve the cash flow management and draft the future plan for minimising the situation of shortages of cash. It will increase the probability of enhancing the profit with minimization of future as well as current debts. However, implementation of the new fees structure will not affect the overall profit. Implementation of the new plan the cash receipt plan of the company can be improved as the court fees charged on hourly basis are taken out and thereby the annual membership fees are only left for the purpose of charging. Therefore, the impacted on the receipt will be greatly reduced and as the membership fees charged on annual basis are fixed and constant, the receipts can be predicted (Weygandt, Kimmel and Kieso 2015). Further, the probability of cash loss generated from the court fees charged on hourly basis will be reduced after implementation of new membership plan. Thus, new plan implementation will improve the efficiency and enhance the HLWs ability for management of their cash and planning for the future decision. Impact of the sales revenue Receipts from the membership fees Particulars Amount Individual $ 22,500.00 Student $ 15,000.00 Family $ 100,000.00 Total $ 137,500.00 Receipts from court fees Particulars Amount Prime time $ 86,400.00 Non-prime time $ 56,000.00 Off season $ 21,600.00 Total $ 164,000.00 Total receipt from the 2 sources will be = ($ 137,500 + $ 164, 000) = $ 301,500. Computation of receipts after new plan implementation Receipts from membership fees will be New members = (2000 / 70%) = 1400 members Under in case of campaign Particulars Amount Family $ 141,750.00 Individual $ 78,750.00 Total $ 220,500.00 Receipts under no campaign Particulars Amount Family $ 192,500.00 Individual $ 115,500.00 Total $ 308,000.00 Total receipts under new implementation plan Particulars Amount Under campaign $ 220,500.00 Under no-campaign $ 308,000.00 Total receipts $ 528,500.00 It can be identified from the above calculation that the plan for fees collection or new membership plan will have effective and positive impact on processing and it will enhance the generation of revenue as the incremental revenue will be ($ 528,500 - $ 301,500) = $ 227,000. Effect of sales revenue from the planned change in fee structure: Analysis of the new fee structure and membership plan for rejecting it or adopting it For analysis, the following key factors were identified by HLW For analysing the membership plan entirely, HLW made various analyses on financial aspect like the company calculated the liquid ratios for analysing the liquidity status. Further, they also prepared the cash flow statement for controlling the available liquid funds. Moreover, they tried to maintain sufficient balance between the amount of cash inflows and outflows. For the purpose of achieving the target they also prepared the flexible budget and the statement for estimation of cash flows (McVay 2015). The HLW management recognized that the minimization of the administration cost after new membership plan implementation as the club will no more be required to prepare the revenue collection data on regular basis (Burns and Walker 2015). However, initially the plan may get adverse opinion from the management as they will face problem in collecting the membership fees. Moreover, the onetime fees may seem to be a burden for the members which in turn may reduce the number of members cons iderably. Further, as per the new membership plan the members required to pay the payment for entire year as the advance payment (Estampe et al. 2013). Therefore, as per the new policy onetime cash budgets is required to be prepared as the payment will be made once in the year. However, to execute the plan successfully effective cash management is required to be in place that includes controlling and managing the cash efficiently. It has been concluded from the above analysis that Activity based costing can be used for achieving target deduction in the overhead expenses. It works best in the complex circumstance where many products and machines are there, processes are tangled and not easy for sorting out. ABC identifies the special training, machine set up, special engineering and other activities that generate costs and lead the company to the consumer resources. However, it is not of much importance where the process of production is simple. On the other hand, planning the budget gives greater ability or making continuous improvements and solving the problems. It also gives the appropriate financial information that can provide the base for decisions which in turn create greater confidence in the process of decision making.
